Do you tend to avoid stuffy upper class bars and lounges where the drinks are upwards of $10 and where the women take a six-figure salary as a prerequisite to play ball? Do you think that characterizes NYC Nightlife? Well you couldn’t be more wrong – NYC nightlife is not limited to the pretentious, prim and proper. Contrary to popular belief there is more than just high-class bourgeoisie joints for the actors, musicians, and big wigs. There is a plethora of options for us, the masses, to go out and tie one on. NYC nightlife has something, if not everything, for everyone.

What is NYC Nightlife really about, you ask? Well, it’s definitely not all about money and status – there are plenty of places where you can dance, drink, party, and laugh – with fellow earthlings and like-minded folk. Check out places like: 13 Bar/Lounge, 2i's, for the dance-aholics and CBGB for the punkers. Comedy clubs are also a fun and affordable option for those who like laughs. Avoid the prissy areas where pockets are bulging and noses are skyward, you’ll know when your there. Remember, though, the drinking age is 21 years old – regardless of caste or class.
